Glitterknife Releases New Single “Coughing Water”

Stream NOW via SoundCloud

Glitterknife’s new single, “Coughing Water” will be available for pre-order on iTunes on May 27, 2019 and will be released on May 31, 2019 to iTunes and Spotify, Amazon Music and most other online outlets.

What begins as a piano ballad soon builds into a piece filled with synth, voice distortion and beats. A chorus of siren songs emerge as the themes at work are mirrored in the structure of the song.

Through a love story with a mermaid, the song explores relationship themes of getting what you ask for (but finding out it’s not exactly what you wanted) and discovers how quickly a relationship can change from good to bad.

Glitterknife draws from influences ranging from Anohni and Tori Amos to Lydia Ainsworth and Anna Meredith.
