Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, emerging alternative artist Tien Cortez has released his debut track ‘Don’t Finish What You Started’.

The single is available now on all major digital platforms.

Don’t Finish What You Started   aptly speaks about starting endless amounts of new hobbies without seeing them through until the finish. This track is ironically the first to be completed since Cortez began making music within the last year. What began as a personal dig about never writing a full song has turned into the leading words to start his musical career.

Tien Cortez effortlessly breaks through the barriers of genre as he blends elements of heavy, up tempo rock with blasting synths. Don’t Finish What You Started works with catchy, repetitive beats which layer below his powerful vocal throughout the entire track, leaving your ears with a sense of total overwhelm.

Inspired by a range of musical influences, from Frank Sinatra’s early days to the unique sounds of Bjork, Tien Cortez prides himself on being experimental.

Despite being only 21, Tien Cortez boasts a producing maturity and lyrical ability way beyond his years. His work comes primarily from his studio bedroom, a space which has allowed his creativity to burst since his early teens.

Playing around with sound has always been a part of Cortez’s life but it wasn’t until starting an Audio Engineering degree, another example of something started but not yet completed.

Although he has spent a lot of time being unsure about new things, Cortez is looking forward to showcasing a completed project, one finished well. Perhaps this ending is one leading to a new beginning.
