Interview with Emily V

Hello Emily!  Where are you from and what city do you currently call home?

Hi!  I am originally from Atascadero, California.  I am currently living in the South Bay of Southern California.

How do you describe your genre of music overall?

I describe it as “Hendrix meets Grappelli”..  Actually, that just came off the top of my head.  I usually just say “rock n’ roll”.

What have been some of your favorite stages to play?

There have been so many!  And so many bands.  I have loved playing sold out shows with The Adicts at The Observatory, with Walter trout at The Warner Grand Theatre, and the old Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo with Lukas Nelson and The Promise of The Real, just to name a few!

Tell us about your latest shows and next moves for the new year!

Most recently, I just got to play with Blind Melon a few months back at Saint Rocke and again the other night with a local band, The Kevin Sousa Band.  I play shows EVERY weekend, so I am always somewhere with some great band.

This next year I am looking to release some original music and to play with some of the big bands on my list of who I adore!

How would you describe your LIVE show to someone who hasn’t seen it before?

My live show is explosive, energetic, soulful and liberating.  My live peformance is an out of body experience for me, I hope I can take my audience with me on this journey.  Its an extremely mystical experience!
