Richard Lynch Talks 2020 In Exclusive Interview

Richard Lynch is as real as they get. His music is traditional country, and that’s the way he lives his life, too. From multiple hit singles and albums, to raising funds for veterans and barn preservation, duet-ing with legends of country music, and working his farm, country music has a true ambassador in Lynch. He took time out from his schedule to answer some questions for us, in this exclusive IPM interview….

IPM: Hey Richard, Its been over a year since we last spoke.  How was your
2019?  What were some of the major highlights of the year?

Richard Lynch: We had a very busy year. We released our latest album Think I’ll Carry It On and I am proud to say I wrote or co-wrote all 12 tracks. We had many exciting shows in 2019 with Leona & Ron Williams, Lee Roy Parnell, Mel Tillis Jr., David Frizzell, Moe Band, Johnny Lee and Ronnie McDowell.

IPM: What was your favorite show you performed and why?

RL: Oh I can’t really say I have a favorite, but New Year’s Eve with Ronnie McDowell was certainly special.

IPM: You’re about to head out on your annual Texas tour.  Tell us about
it…where you’re headed and what we can expect from the show?

RL: Well we are doing a number of shows down in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas is always a special place to play. We always have to be ready with good ole dancing tunes as they love to dance down there. Right after Texas will we be doing our annual Country Music Cruise and we are all looking forward to that.

IPM: What’s your favorite thing about being on tour?

RL: Besides playing music, I just love meeting new people and hope to make great fans & friends from each of them

IPM: Tell us about your latest single, “Back in 1953.”

RL: To me country music is about life, about truth. The songs I write come from emotion. This one is no different it is a true story about a guitar my Dad Woody gave me when I was a teenager.

IPM: After all these years, is playing music still fun for you?

RL: Yes indeed, I truly want to carry on the traditions of real country music.

IPM: You’re nominated for Best Christian/Gospel artist at the 6th IMEA Awards.Tell us what that honor means to you.  Were you surprised to learn of the nomination?

RL: Surprised, I never really thought of myself as a gospel artist, but once again a song, Pray On The Radio came to me from a real experience. It turned out to be very well received in the gospel community and I am very thankful for that.

IPM: What are some of your goals for 2020?

RL: Well I look forward to more touring and hope to release my fifth studio album

IPM: What is your greatest achievement, so far?

RL: Longevity!  I have been spreading country music for forty years.

IPM: Here’s to another forty, Richard! Thanks so much for sitting with us. All the best for an amazing 2020!
