TAYLOR YOUNG BAND DEBUT WITH MERCURY TRANSIT OUT NOW ON HAND DRAWN RECORDS
Taylor Young Band debut with Mercury Transit “a creative flair of charismatic rock that conjures up 70’s power pop, radio-friendly wails, and inspirational anthems” (-Glide Magazine) out now on Hand Drawn Records.
Although the band itself is new, Taylor Young Band “brings together local stalwarts with global aspirations” (- Dallas Observer): Band namesake Taylor Young is a recording/touring drummer (Young Heart Attack, Polyphonic Spree, etc.), who fronted a band called The O’s (singer/guitar) before embarking on this solo project. For his solo record, he teams with Toby Pipes (singer/guitar for Deep Blue Something) on bass and producer, Kenny Wayne (guitar for Leon Bridges) on lead guitar and Josh Hoover (drummer for Calhoun) on drums.
Mercury Transit is available digitally today, but was released on 2/28 on vinyl and celebrated with a hometown performance at Club Dada. Taylor Young recently spoke with The Vinyl District about his affinity for vinyl, “It’s a breath of fresh air to hear the real lows and the real highs of vinyl.” And KXT 97.1FM “The Local Show” with Amy Miller is currently spinning “Make You Wanna Stay” from the album.
