LVVRS’ releases “Iconic”

Darting back and forth between the left and right speaker channels in a show of stereophonic strength, the melodic core of LVVRS’ “Iconic” is impossible for any true pop fan to resist, no matter how boggled by the genre’s current climate you might be. LVVRS are pulling out the big guns for their latest single in a potent effort to distinguish their sound from that of their more plasticized competition in pop/rock today, and from its slickly-stylized guitars to the cinematic-quality video the band made in support of its release, “Iconic” does a good job of showing us just how unique and untethered to trends their approach is. They’re all musical moxie here, and the passion they exude is contagious to put it very mildly.

Part of what makes this track so fun to listen to on repeat is its multilayered design, which allows for audiences to focus in on various aspects of its physicality without ever losing sight of its marvelous centerpiece hook. LVVRS are still coming into their own with regards to streamlining their sound, but in the two years that have gone by since they released “Wild Heart,”

I think they’re coming off as more mature and in-control of their destiny than they ever have prior to now. This is a rebelliously rock-inspired effort on their end, and if you ask me, it’s representative of a creative trajectory that they shouldn’t consider abandoning moving forward. LVVRS have all the right pieces to go big, and judging from the caliber of this most recent release, they’re planning to exploit these pieces for everything their worth.
