Captain Dane-O releases debut album Monster in the Addict

Captain Dane-O started singing in his friends band at the young age of 15, already having a deep love for music. He quickly discovered that he had a greater passion for making music. A few years later the band shrunk from a quartet to a trio. At which point he began to play guitar and use turntables as an effect.

 A few years later the band shrunk again to a duo,  Dane-O started playing an 8-string hybrid guitar that has 3 bass and 5 guitar strings. Shortly after he found himself on his own. Playing with a musician here and there. He quickly discovered the turntables provided intricate rhythms.

His use of his 8-string give his music a unique melody and grit., while the mic gave him an expressive outlet to wax poetic with his lyrical power. Armed with the live band experience and an unorthodox arsenal of toys, He set out on a voyage to make music.

We had the honor of listening to two tracks now available to hear, A Long Time Ago , this track has a great Reggae style, that comes in and out of frequency focus, with alternating timings. Alternately, the track  Appropriately Inappropriate has a “Slow Flow” rap / hip hop texture, but it’s movements have a Trance Like rhythm which gives you time to groove along. His music will definitely give fans of artists like Primus something to consider.
