Michael Pinder’s new (Single/Video) “Soar”
In a blissfully smooth vocal that will only grow more commanding and emotionally relatable as we press on in the song, Michael Pinder’s new single “Soar” begins to play, leaving in its path a trail of elegant harmonies that could soften even the hardest of hearts this spring season.

While equally evocative in some respects, the guitar strings that act as an agent of comfort and support for Pinder’s voice are nowhere near as powerful an entity to reckon with in this single and its cloud-covered music video. This is a singer’s showcase if I’ve ever heard one before, and though the instrumental wave here is quite formidable to say the least, there’s never a moment where this artist sounds even slightly hesitant in his attack.
As the acoustic balladry transforms into a rollicking indie rock sway, Pinder’s vocal isn’t the only element in the mix that gets a little stronger with each passing verse. The guitars get a shot of electricity, the drums develop a confident thrust that could shake the floorboards beneath your stereo at the right volume, and the keys spit color all over the backend of the song, as if to contextualize the verses with an additional layer of texture we didn’t even know we needed. “Soar” concludes in a haze of rhythm and harmony as intoxicating as a shot of Bacardi 151 (and twice as addictive), and whether consumed in the music video or single format, the impact it has on audiences tends to be the same.
Michael Pinder’s soul is on fire in this all-new release, and judging from the ambition behind its design, his flame won’t be dying down anytime soon.
