Fred Hostetler Releases New Video for River Of Hope

he latest message of hope from Fred Hostetler, featuring the talents of Robbie Cribbs is a heartwarming piece of music, composed with the future of love at the center.

Hostetler and Cribbs, who are the only musicians on this track, trade off telling the story of a river, its pulse and flow, and how it contuse forth, unbound and it may wind through treacherous planes, it can never be contained.

The song’s direction and tone is a bit different from what we have heard from Fred Hostetler’s past work, it has a blinding energy, bright and engulfing, lyrically it holds his trademark of finding the perfect words and inspiring timber, but musically, it is fiery and pure electricity, not that I would say his past work, which I enjoy, is less than passionate, but this, this is a powerhouse of resistance to what is going on in our world .

In commentary, Fred had this to say in relation to his latest release – “First off thanks to Robbie Cribbs who created this song and offered it to me to record and release. In the year 2020, Mother Nature stunned humans- Nature’s fury appeared in the form of Covid 19 unleashing mayhem. Trying to find a way to relieve the anxiety of it all, Robbie pulled a tenor ukulele off the wall and began fiddling around.  In hindsight he noted “I almost felt like thousands of voices were traveling through me in a unified statement of hope.” I shared this feeling as I wrote and recorded my parts. I have found the whole process extremely uplifting and hope many other people will discover a bit of solace upon hearing it.”

The music of Fred Hostetler has always been a calling to unify he people, somewhat reminiscent of Pete Seeger’s songs of human unification and peaceful coexistence, Fred picks up the torch of freedom and humanity, and this new piece, River Of Hope, is just another platform in our trek to a future of pure light and love.

The song title is emblematic of our need for a river of hope to carry us through these troubling times. This ‘Avant Americana’ single asks us all to pool together, climb aboard, and catch the flow of the river of hope. The music suggests a compelling journey ahead and creates the flow with inventive textures that carry the listener on to river waters. The video in an abstract way reinforces the haunting hypnotic track, drawing the viewer
into the uplifting message of the lyric.

Cribbs grew up in Ireland where he first began working in a recording studio. Hostetler returned to the USA from 17 years in India and began pursuing his singer-songwriter career. He received “LA Music Critic Award Best Singer Songwriter 2019 and was nominated for Best Video 2019.
