New Brad Heller Video, “Bound For Nothing,”
~ IndiePulse Music Magazine
Musical artist Brad Heller brings us a new video for his song “Bound For Nothing”, a song that visualizes the emotion of living life.
The video for “Bound for Nothing” was inspired by two different visual concepts. The black and white color scheme was a tribute to the film “In Cold Blood,” and the footage was inspired by Bruce Springsteen’s album “The River”. For Heller, song deals with themes of universal alienation and the disconnection we all experience in our jobs, relationships, and within society in general.
“We tried to emulate that loneliness throughout the video. A solitary character with no means, and no real connection with the tangible world. To offset the dark themes of the story we interspersed color in random frames. This visual tactic seemed to offer glimpses of hope, and keep the viewer involved throughout.”
In Review: in “Bound For Nothing” Heller did in fact capture not only his intended vision, but so much more, in this moment of time, in this Nation with the economy, the pandemic and all that is today’s “New Normal” we all experience a the loss of “what Could Be, What Could Have Been and what we feel should have been. But there is also a small and glimmering spark of hope in the song, that tomorrow, there could be, in the horizon, a better day.
