Greensboro, North Carolina native Eric Johnson, A.K.A Wavy Banx is rising the ranks of artist notoriety with an unequaled style. After graduating from college in hometown, Banx wasn’t surrounded by much motivation. Many of his childhood friends either turned to drugs or the streets, so Banx had to make a decision on the type of person who he wanted to become.
Isolating himself, he began to pursue passion and practice music as a way to channel his frustrations. Many people who graduated knew what they wanted to do, but it just wasn’t the same for Banx. Music opened up another avenue for him to express himself and he found he excelled at it.
With his of brand of freestyling and eclectic styles of music, he found inspiration from his childhood when his dad would send him CDs to listen to while he was deployed in service of his country. Fast-forward to today, Banx has released his own singles to the public and has plans for more music and videos to garner the attention of industry heads soon.
When asked about his inspiration, Banx says he’s “inspired by many artists but most importantly, Lil Wayne, Tupac, and Juicy J. Versatility is important to Banx”, he says “he loves to create music that can put you into various moods”.
Wavy Banx plans to release most significant project “Rachet and Rewarding” very soon and plans to roll-out more content for his growing fanbase. The first title track single from the EP is presently available to stream, and the Album Rachet and Rewarding is set to release Jun 27th .
“This year, I’m going to make people feel me. Just watch”
