Single Review: Kristen Karma “Dear John”

Perhaps better known for her upbeat dance songs, Kristen Karma’s “Dear John” shows a more tender side of the pink-haired pop star. Loss isn’t easy for anyone to deal with. It is one of the unfortunate realities of our human experience. “Dear John” is a touching tribute that reminds us “it’s not about the quantity, it’s the quality of life.” Featuring the vocal chops of Marian Hanna and hip-hop sensibility of Mr ATP, it’s no surprise that “Dear John” has already achieved Top 40 success. The success of “Dear John” is the latest feather in the cap for Karma whose meteoric rise in the past few years has seen her taken under the wing of the Akon and Lady Gaga camps. This song presents an opportunity for fans to see a new side of Kristen where her vocals and lyrics are solely at the forefront. The breadth of her abilities as a songwriter are on full display with this one and I can’t wait for more.
