Album Review: John Vento & Nied’s Hotel Band “2.0”

Pittsburgh’s favorite band is back with an album that is sure to be your go-to summer jam. The Nied’s Hotel Band is comprised of some of the finest musicians in town and they each leave their mark on this record. Fronted by John Vento, fondly known as the hardest working musician in The Steel City, the band’s energy is infectious and unwavering. The album opens up with “Need A Lover,” a song that will bring out your inner bass-face even if you’ve never picked up the four stringed instrument (and there’s plenty more where that came from). After a trio of up-tempo grooves the band slows things down with “I Love You” a song that really allows John’s vocals to shine. With sax solos that’ll whisk you away to New Orleans and organ solos that’ll take you straight to church, there’s a little something for everyone on this album. John is the maestro of the modern day orchestra that is The Nied’s Hotel Band and believe me, there is no finer band in town.
