Gasoline Tequila drop smooth Single
What do you like to indulge in? Too much alcohol? Maybe you’ve found yourself hitting the cookie jar a few too many times over the past few months? The guilt associated with indulgence is sometimes naughty and let’s face it, we’re human. Too much of a good thing, can be…well, a good thing! That’s the case in the new single “Indulgent Fool” from indie guitar rock band, Gasoline Tequila. The instrumental band peppers an abundance of Flamenco that any audiophile might become quite obsessed in listening.
Gasoline Tequila is based in New York City. The mastermind behind this group is Massimo Lusardi, a former hospitality worker that started playing what he describes as “off the cuff in one of his restaurants” in his biography, to taking the show to bigger stages like Oscar de la Renta’s Fashion Show during New York Fashion Week. Since 2016, the group has amassed an eclectic following of fans that range from world music lovers, to what he calls an artistic enclave. The group gained a sync placement in Orange Is The New Black (Netflix). Gasoline Tequila have been featured numerous times on SoFar Sounds. The band’s Spotify profile notes its most popular tracks as “Gasoline Tequila”, “Three Day Love Affair”, “Meditation” and “Premonition”.
“Indulgent Fool” is instrumental, meaning there are no lyrics. While it’s a challenge for me as reviewer to come up with the words to describe the theme of the song, it’s an easy task to tell how listeners and readers how I felt while listening to this triumphant song. I felt ambushed with mob of guitars that lifted my spirits and my inner soul. This song makes you happy as you listen to the levitating riffs. Lusardi’s quick, smooth guitar work is humbling. He makes it sound so easy, so freeing. Non ritzy….it’s not that he’s not sophisticated in his guitar work, it’s that it doesn’t feel inhibited by rules or regulations. On the contrary, I think the music bed is far greater than most in terms of sophistication. His tone is hypnotic yet improvised. I think he had a set direction, and his compass is really more driven by instincts and feeling of the guitar. To see this song live in concert would be just as exciting. Still, I believe Gasoline Tequila captures the same energy and incantation from live performance into the studio. I can see that this song was probably created in one take because of the sheer passion emitting from the speakers.

The song carries a sensual mood, a flirty vibe. I think that happens a lot with Spanish and Latin music. The emotions run at a higher stake, and the listener is left breathing a little faster, their heart beating more rapidly. “Indulgent Fool” swoons the listener. It’s effortless to fall into submission to the enchanting guitar and colorful imagery. The shapes falling into place from “Indulgent Fool” can create the storyline of your choosing. One would be a fool to not listen to Gasoline Tequila’s “Indulgent Fool”.
