Critics Holler for Brad Heller

Whether with his backing band, The Fustics, or performing as an acoustic artist, Brad Heller has established himself as a credible force among current songwriters.

Honing his craft for over a decade and a half, the Wilmington, North Carolina transplant has built a reputation as a thoughtful song-smith who tackles a wide range of personal and social issues.  Bouncing between a myriad of genres, Heller finds creative drive in honoring musical influences that inspired him, while never abandoning his own unique sound. With the release of The Sentence, Heller continues to build his audience with constant touring and spirited live shows.

Heller’s The Sentence centers on middle-class characters while exploring themes of loss, self-imposed alienation, abandonment of faith, addiction, and immigration. Brad Heller and the Fustics will continue touring the U.S. full force into 2020 and beyond once the COVID-19 pandemic eases its restrictions.

What we, and the Press think about this fantastic artist!

“Heller’s new album, The Sentence, is evidence of his evolution as a socially-involved, profound song-smith…his most focused work, both musically and lyrically…fires on all cylinders from start to finish.” – Indie Pulse Music Magazine

“An engaging collection of stories…and a very deep record. Whether he’s flirting with Springsteen’s style (‘Bound For Nothing’) or gliding into the distant afterlife (‘The Garden Tree’), Heller tells engaging stories that really draw you in.” – The Rock Doctor

“Heller has become a voice for the common man as he continues to forge his own identity. A consummate storyteller, his songs reverberate within every-man.” – Nashville Blues and Roots Alliance

“Brad Heller is a songwriter, a storyteller and wordsmith of very high standard. His music is excellent; he comes across with sincerity and belief, about as far away from most other artists in the Country and Americana worlds as I could have expected given his history. Well worth checking out.” – Music-News.com

(Heller) falls somewhere in between James Taylor and Bruce Springsteen…his songs are carefully plotted out…has all the elements of great songwriting and a mesmerizing voice.” – The Blues Highway

‘Eternal Season’ kicks off the album with a smooth sound that flows very nicely with Heller’s lyrics. ‘Gone’ also has a strong backbeat that sets the mood. It’s easy to hear the pain in Heller’s voice and words. It’s fair to say that I enjoyed Brad Heller and he delivers on The Sentence.” – Professor Johnny P’s Juke Joint

Singer-songwriter Brad Heller’s new release, The Sentence, could be filling the void left by the departure of Tom Petty. Heller’s vocals and songwriting are consistently solid throughout the release.” – BMans Blues Report

‘Eternal Season’ has a great backbeat and is ready for the radio…” – Heavy Journalists
