Bleek Noir: Bite Thy Pigsty – A New Album and a Whole New Sound
UK Dark Artist Bleek Noir has come up with a vibrant & seething creation with a new soundscape that even I could never imagined. With a sound that is rebelliously angst driven, still retaining the dark Gothic sound we have come to expect, but with a power grind that is both exciting and… well SCARY, this is Halloween on overdrive.
The EP / Album, titled Bite Thy Pigsty is broad in its composition, his voice is upfront and the lyrics are beastly. His new sound seems like Bleek is experimenting with new tempos and effects that don’t hide any “imperfections” but accentuate every note in blissful and lusty goodness. Noir seems to also draw new soundscapes from classic rock & roll rhythms and foundation musical classes that really bring out some great beats.
The opening track A Human Kind Of Cruel is heart pounding, with some wild techno beats and mad mad lyrics, followed by Becoming Beast, which is very very luscious. The track Fingers which in itself is not spooky, but when you hear it, there is a cryptic malevolence that draws you in.
Bleek Noir then performs a reprise of 2 tracks, A Human Kind Of Cruel and Becoming Beast, but instrumental only… but you can still hear his words, just from a brief moment they are etched into your brain, like a dark mental tattoo, that moves and spreads on its own.
I have had the pleasure of covering many of Bleek Noir’s releases, and I revel in the dark and mysterious overtones, but this is just so wild, and exciting to experience, I WANT THIS TO COME OUT ON VINYL… IT NEEDS TO COME OUT ON VINYL!
Bleek Noirs last release, I Am Unamused was also a transitional album, where he started the experimentation which I believe led up to Bite Thy Pigsty‘s diversion from his more traditional sound, I Am Unamused was fabulously received in the dark and gloomy naughty bits of the UK and US Indie Scenes and is still reveling in popularity. the Video Do Me A Favour shows his emotion and has a dramatic twist that pairs with a song that really hits home on the final line ” Do Me A Favour, And Love Me”.
