Single Review: Izzie’s Caravan “On The Pull”
Izzie’s Caravan are back with a dynamo single, ‘On The Pull’. Typically raucous, the track is wild from the get-go. The band takes garage rock to a new level, placing the listener front and center with a track that has all the energy of a live gig. Structurally, ‘On The Pull’ is somewhere between a traditional blues/rock song and an experimental jam session. Outrageous guitar solos weave in and out, interrupting Izzie’s vocals and drawing attention to cheeky lyrics such as ‘She spread herself like a Dairy Queen’. ‘On The Pull’ has a classic sound that is sorely missing from contemporary rock and roll. It is a sound to which teenagers from bygone eras could relate. The listener can almost smell the booze, sweat and pot concealed with deodorant. Deep down, all rock and roll fans long to return to Izzie’s Caravan, for the jam session of a lifetime. Put on some headphones, close your eyes, and you shall be there.
