Just Before Dawn release latest album:’Bits and Pieces’
Just Before Dawn are back to give alt-rock a new meaning!
‘Bits and Pieces’ is an incredible 18 track album which tells us of different stories within each track! After previously releasing a concept album consisting of one narrative, it was time to bring forward ‘Bits and Pieces’. With epic, almost theatrical songs, we are taken on dark fantasy roller coaster rides when listening to this album in full.

Recorded in Sveio Studio with only one rule: enjoying the process! As before, the project experiments with a wide range of instruments, from cajon, violin and double bass to raw, heavy guitars and synths, all to create the right landscapes for the multi-vocal arrangements. It is well worth the listen as there are plenty of musical intricacies and deep discoveries to make within each track! ‘Bits and Pieces’ appears to exist in tune with what Just Before Dawn is all about: powerful, melodic, well arranged music!
Just Before Dawn is a project dating back to the first album release ‘Child of today’ in 1991 by Tore R Kvam, Steinar Meling and Kjell Tjetland. It’s all about the joy of creating music, with no commercial stress or expectations. Tore R Kvam places this concept into the arranging and recording of the project, as he makes music in a studio based far into the woods of Norway.
Whilst lyrics remain important to the project, Tore R Kvam himself plays most of the instruments and draws inspiration from the music of 70’s bands such as Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Marillion. With vocal contributions from Anette Storstein and Pia Aasland Bertelsen, and Odin Staveland playing drums on three of the tracks, this album shows us that alt-rock is a genre to be further explored!
