Exclusive Interview with Nick Johnson and Justine Blazer
Where are you located now and where are you originally from?
Nick: I live in Nashville, TN and I’m originally from Brooklyn NY.
Justine: I’m in Nashville now but I am originally from Detroit!
Tell us about the making of DONE DONE DONE!
Nick: Writing Done Done Done was a lot of fun because it went down in such an informal, organic way. Justine Blazer was messing around with an idea…. I walked in and boom we were off and writing! Once we got a sense of the song I think we both realized “We might have something!?”
Justine: It was such a fun and creative collaboration. I really enjoy working with Nick and we swap ideas and make some cool stuff happen.
The video is FIRE! What was the inspiration?
Nick: Justine had been out looking for locations and sent me pics of Marathon Village and we both thought yes. We really wanted to make it a simple performance based, clean video. Justine put together a treatment and got Mike Mylken (shot it) and Megan Harper assisted. All the credit to Justine and those cats. I just danced around and played air guitar.
Justine: Thank you! The inspiration is just about standing up for yourself, good vibes and creating healthy boundaries. Time is limited, always make the best of it. No time for drama or negative people.
What are you most looking forward to in 2021?
Nick: Uhhhhhhh, going out! Playing live! I’m really excited about releasing all this new music/videos! I wrote these songs here in Nashville and on the road, so I’m excited to share with the world. Truly!!
Justine: I have soooo many cool new things in the works. A new EP, another new project I’m launching, some amazing clients I am working for, sync stuff and EP’s. It’s gonna be another exciting year.
What would you say to your younger selves if you could?
Nick: Hang on to yourself kid and keep going!
Justine: Don’t waste time with nonsense and negativity. Also I had no idea that this journey was going to be this long but it’s been amazing. I love my life but I wouldn’t change a thing.
How much do you believe LUCK plays a role in success?
Nick: Some people call it luck, I call it probability. Put yourself in the position to have the best probability and work/hope it goes your way!
Justine: I think it’s a small piece. Hard work is the main thing, consistency and talent of course.
How can we stay up to date with you and any more collaborations brewing up??
Nick: Check me out on any of these platforms. I know I would love to do another song with Justine! All of my new music Justine Blazer has produced and I’m really digging the quality of music and vibe we are putting out to the world. For me that’s what it’s all about!
