Randy Seedorff Is Sweet On “Family Tree”

Good times, nostalgia and golden days are just around the corner with Randy Seedorff’s latest single ‘Family Tree’. A sweet song about spending time with family and reminiscing on the ‘good old days’, ‘Family Tree’ is as feel-good as it is moving. Especially during these times of the pandemic, it’s no surprise that a lot of us are missing family right now and wishing to spend time with them. ‘Family Tree’ taps into that emotion, while being able to also put a smile on our faces (“A portrait of that moment/Is etched upon my mind/Pictures that come back to me/Carved on my family tree”). It’s true that family is so important to our lives, and Seedorff’s appreciation of his family is clear as he remembers special moments with his loved ones (“My uncle playing the piano/Big smile shining/Oh how I missed those days”). A real highlight of ‘Family Tree’ is Randy’s surprisingly soaring vocals – he gets to show off that big range towards the end of the song (especially on the lines “While Jesus washed me white as snow”). Of course, the electric guitar plays a big role in creating the magic too. Sweet, touching and emotional, ‘Family Tree’ is a fitting song during these times.
