Critchley & Simmons releases latest single ‘Heave Ho’
Getting on board with the Tik Tok Se Shanty trend, Critchley & Simmons bring you their spooky shanty ‘Heave Ho’.
With a nod of the head to the compositions of Brecht and Weill, ‘Heave Ho’ is the ideal song for weighing anchor on the ghost ships of our lives. ‘Heave Ho’ was recorded remotely, with the vocals recorded in New York by Philosopher Simon Critchley and the music recorded by John William Simmons in Melbourne.

In their own words, “Critchley & Simmons, not a firm of solicitors, but a gorgeous, throbbing, living experiment in words, sounds and images.” This duo have been remotely creating music together long before Covid made this necessary for most. Critchley & Simmons have produced four studio albums between their respective homes of Manhattan and Melbourne, taking their influence from David Bowie, Tom Waits and Massive Attack.
