Aaron Dean’s “Heaven Please Rewind” is a pleasant debut from the Ontario born, Alberta based country singer. Not much is known to me about this Canadian talent, but this single predates – Piece by Piece, his yet to be finished album. Dean is a gifted singer/songwriter who keeps his words to the point on this well-written/arranged and produced song about a lost loved one. The basic ingredients of the song have all been whipped up before, but it is about who is holding the spoon here, and Dean makes it look easy on this heartfelt, mellow country tune with much more to than that.
If you like down home goodness in your music, “Heaven Please Rewind” does a number on the senses and then some, it is not one of these modern pop country efforts by any means, it is the authentic feed your soul variety. I was not even expecting it myself when the track first started playing, but it did not take long to draw me in and be able to give an opinion about it on the very first spin. The song is likeable for the get go, especially if you like slow country ballads with great lyrics and some meaningful music to go with it.
The music and words have an effortless flow, which is the mark of any great songwriter, and Dean proves to possess the natural skills all the legacy artists were good for, notwithstanding the right contemporary values. “Heaven Please Rewind” is a song that gets to your soul as much as your heart with just one pass by the ears, leaving it good for multiple spins a day. The year of the pandemic has not brough a lot of country music my way, so it’s a breath of fresh air to hear such a track.
Dean is now a ten year veteran of the music scene and plays regularly around Fort McMurray, Alberta, CA. And you can hear it all over this song, as if he’s been doing all his life by now and naturally comes out this music produced very well from the studio. The new music frontier promises to be full of surprises, and I think music coming back to market is one of them because it advertises a product to base a show on. The pandemic has brought out much proof of this, and songs like “Heaven Please Rewind” is a testament of the quality we are seeing in the process.
Not being at all shy to admit it when something touching comes my way, so far in the year 2021 this track stands out to me as one of the best country releases I’ve heard thus far. “Heaven Please Rewind” has more to it than just another sad story, it’s song any country music fan can relate to as well as the crossover appeal potential. This is a remarkably good song by someone to watch for, and it comes recommended for the masses, as well as his immediate local fan base.
