Full interview with Louise Cappi.

Hey, very happy to welcome you to the Radio Show and Podcast community. Tell us a little bit more about yourself. Introduce yourself to the community.
My name is Louise Cappi. I am a singer/songwriter and recording artist from New Orleans. However, I am a native New Yorker.
One thing that I’m always interested in, when I sit down and chat with artists is, what their defining moment was that they knew that they wanted to be in music… What was that moment in time for you?
I always knew that I wanted to be a singer. My Dad was a professional jazz guitarist and he was a huge influence on my career choice.
Do you mix and master yourself or do you have an engineer or a producer that works with you?
I have an amazing Producer and engineer. Paul Longstreth, my producer, is very talented and experienced. He helped to bring my new album, HOPE, to celestrial hieghts.
What motivates you? Not just in your music but in your normal life as well.
My spirituality and desire to better the human condition.
I am personally on a mission to get good music heard by everyone. What is one thing that bothers you the most about trying to come up in the music world today and, do you prefer being underground or, is the mainstream something you strive for?
I am very passionate about writing what, I consider, to be music with depth. Some of the music I hear out there is lacking melody, harmony and lyrics that inspire ideas. If my music goes mainstream, great because I believe in my music!

Who, musically, is one of your bigger influences?
Oh man, that’s a hard one. I would say Carol King. She has it all, smart lyrics and beautiful melodies.
One question that I like to ask artists is, how did Covid affect your music in particular and the music scene in your area?
It shut us down! But, I used that lock down time as an opportunity to write songs that developed into my album,
HOPE, which will drop this fall ’21.
I, myself, personally think that there’s too much social media out there to keep up with. I understand why it’s necessary but there’s a ton of it out there. What are your feelings on social media and music today?
I think it can be a blessing or a curse. Just like with anything, it’s how it is used. Personally I like it.
Do you create music often? When can we expect another release?
I try to write often. Not all of it is great, but I keep at it. On July 16, ’21, my single, “HOPE” will be released on MTS Record label. I’m very excited about that.
I grew up in the 90’s, I listened to everyone from Dr. Dre, to Weezer, to Pink Floyd, Metallica, Cypress Hill and back again. I truly believe that the 90’s were one of the greatest era’s for original music. Which era of music is one of your favorites?
I think every era has its own mix of good and not so good music.

If you could swap yourself into a different artist, who would it be?
I think that would be Stevie Wonder! Great musician, singer and song writer. Also he is man which would be fun to try being.
What tips or advice would you give someone that’s just starting out in the music game?
Learn all you can about your art form. Listen, learn, Practice, practice, practice and perform at any opportunity you get!
I want to thank you for this Q&A, Is there anything you want to say to everyone out there? Shout outs?
Thanks for the opportunity to talk about my music and life. Please check out my music at louisecappimusic.com
