Orpheus Music Management Partners with Working Artist Studios
Orpheus Music Management Partners with Working Artist Studios to Enhance Brand Development and Audience Engagement for Local Musicians Washington, DC – Orpheus Music Management, Inc. today announced a strategic partnership with Frederick County, Maryland-based Working Artist Studios. Together, the companies will provide a suite of marketing and music production services designed to support established and up-and-coming music artists in the DC-Maryland-Virginia Metropolitan Area.
“We know from experience that younger bands and individual artists struggle with the rigor of running the ‘business’ that is their career at the pre-major label stage,” said John Mark King, chief executive officer of Orpheus Music. “Despite the Covid pandemic, we’ve been able to help our artists stay active in creating original music, producing video content, and pursuing social media activities to build their audiences.”
Orpheus Music offers musicians in the DMV metro area a wide range of services, from songwriting to audio production to social media management. With the added expertise of Working Artist Studios, the companies believe they can scale to provide comprehensive music production, marketing, media and audience development services that help musicians grow their fanbase and get their music heard.
“Post-pandemic, the live music experience will come roaring back, and that will be great,” said Stu Ballatt, managing partner of Working Artist Studios. “But the digital connection between artists and fans will continue to be increasingly important and how most consumers are introduced to, and form lasting relationships with, the bands they love and listen to for life.”
One artist currently using the combined Orpheus Music-Working Artist services is Loudon County, Virginia-based Elizabeth II, headed by guitarist and vocalist Elizabeth Cannon. She says: “In addition to my music, I work hard to make a connection with my community. For the new track I just released, All My Failures, I worked with John Mark to collaborate on songwriting and production, and now I’m working with Stu to execute a very detailed content and
communications program that we think will take the track to a wider audience than we’ve reached in the past. Some of what we’re doing are new ideas from the team, and some is stuff I’ve wanted to do but didn’t have the time to focus on as an individual artist. So this partnership really brings a lot together for me.”
All My Failures released on May 14, 2021, on Spotify and all major streaming platforms. A companion lyric video for All My Failures was released on May 31, 2021. The supporting content and communications efforts include content and promotion on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and the Websites of both Elizabeth II and Orpheus Music, as well as publicity outreach to regional consumer media, national music media, blogs and playlist producers.
Ballatt continued: “John Mark and the team at Orpheus are talented and experienced music folks. The challenge we hope to meet together is to enhance the marketing and audience engagement side of our services and scale cost-effectively so that up-and-coming musicians have the best opportunity to put their stories out in a professional, high-profile way.”
Under the agreement, King remains partner and CEO of Orpheus Music and Ballatt becomes partner and Head of Marketing and Audience Engagement for Orpheus Music. Ballatt continues as Managing Partner of Working Artist Studios.
