As Izzie’s Caravan’s debut album, Blow The Lid, has just released this summer, yet another single (not on the album) has been offered to the public. “I Ain’t Got No Home” (released as a tribute to Woody Guthrie) is their first single offering, since the album’s release, and they certainly should have included this one on the album. A slower tempo and a lighter vocal performance on this record, it shows a side of Izzie’s Caravan that hasn’t been seen in previous records. The bluegrass roots are as noticeable as ever, but the emotional weight of this record is felt more than any release prior to this. Lyrics about the “hard and dusty road” that one must travel living their lifestyle is something that we all can relate to even without being a touring musician. To reach our goals and see our dreams turn to reality we must pay a hefty cost, and sometimes that means walking a lonely path with nowhere to turn to when we pop a tire on a pothole. Izzie’s Caravan has trudged through the path and shows us the light at the end of the tunnel, a process that culminated with Blow The Lid this summer!
