Argentine actress/composer Carmen Bola has released a first single, “Sugar” that debuts a promising singing and songwriting career .  “Sugar” flows with smooth electricity, riding on her unique blues-drenched, big grin of a voice. The music is catchy and catching; you can’t not snap your fingers and tap your feet.  It just makes you happy.

But take a second listen.  The lyrics are another story, literally – a scary story, sung in English.  She sings, “You numbed and swallowed me” and goes down from there.  Her ability to compose and sing “light”,  and write “heavy”  is fascinating and makes you listen over and over to understand her poetry while you revel in her music.

Like theater and film, music is a team effort from Bola.  The band included Jerry Soto and Rainer Diaz on guitar, Fernando Colombet on bass, Ismael Baiz on drums, David Alastre on keyboards, percussion by Rafasloop, and on backing vocals Paloma Muñoz, Camila Zitelli, Ivana Uman and Silvana Salazar.
