Badro releases debut album ‘The Playdevil’
Expressing the playful and witty side of his personality, Badro releases his debut album ‘The Playdevil’.
Writing the music and lyrics hand-in-hand, each song has its own inspiration and meaning, ranging from crushes to fantasies of breaking free. Unable to set up a band, Badro proved his resourcefulness, writing his own instrumental lines and using MIDI to create the full sound he imagined these songs having. Mixed and mastered at Ganoub studio, ‘The Playdevil’ draws influence from the music of the 70s and 80s, Badro wanting to revive a sense of classic rock.
A student of music since the age of 3, Badro is a multi instrumentalist and songwriter based in Cairo, Egypt. Badro first turned to songwriting as a way of processing a close family member’s illness. Not boxing himself into a specific genre when he writes, Badro’s writing style tends to lean towards a retro sound, filling the space with synths and guitars that support his interesting lyrical content which weaves stories around his ideas.
