Rusty Falcon releases latest album ‘Taste The Salt’
OUT NOW! – Listen Here
Australia based blues-rock band, Rusty Falcon releases their brand new record, ‘Taste The Salt‘. Whilst the album doesn’t follow a storyline, the release gathers its strength from the individual tracks that tell the tale of Troy Smith’s life – Rusty Falcon’s frontman, and was recorded live by the 3 piece in Salt Studios, inMelbourne, Australia. Troy cites Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Paul Kelly as his songwriting influences – with the band channelling Midnight Oil, Mark Knopfler, and The Angels. Rusty Falcon continues to passionately write, rehearse and record songs and videos, and will carry on doing so following the success of their album.
Rusty Falcon is a fun loving Tasmanian independent blues rock band based on King Island in the stormy Bass Strait. Rusty Falcon was formed as a solo outlet for local artist Troy Smith after a serious accident made him intent on creating poetry, which stemmed into songwriting. Troy played guitar in local covers bands for years before joining accomplished original recording band 40º South in 2014, recording an album in 2017. Troy then released his debut EP ‘Stranger In Town‘. Local gigs and multiple appearances at the Festival of King Island, support for Tom Richardson and gigging as often as possible followed, before releasing the more rock driven second EP ‘Island Tracks‘, which was released in late 2020.
