New Jersey Metal icon Dan Lorenzo interviews Sirius/XM DJ Keith Roth.
Interview by and contributed by Dan Lorenzo
In an interview with Sirius/XM DJ Keith Roth of Sirius XM Satellite Radio, OZZY’S Boneyard, Hair Nation, David Johansen’s Mansion of Fun, Dan Lorenzo spoke with his longtime friend about his career in music.
Dan Lorenzo: How long have you been on Sirius/XM?
Keith Roth: It’ll be 19 years in May.

Dan Lorenzo: When you and I used to have lunch together in 1990 did you ever thing we’d both be in multiple bands 32 years into the future?
Keith Roth: (laughs) Those were the days sitting in the park, having lunch from Marzullos, in the middle of winter, being attacked by bees…in the middle of winter, seemed like yesterday! But the answer to your question, “Fuck yea!” What else would we be doing?
Dan Lorenzo: Is being in The Dictators A Dream Come true?
Keith Roth: What’s ironic is the Dictators Go Girl Crazy album was the first record I bought with my own money at Alexander’s Department store, Fordham Road in the Bronx. Some of the guys grew up in my neighborhood in the Bronx- Handsome Dick Manitoba and Scott Kempner. They went to kindergarten with my brother. The Dictators were one of the first punk rock bands, predating the Ramones, Sex Pistols.
AC/DC first show in NYC was opening for The Dictators at the Palladium!
Lots of history and hugely influential to me and many others… it was a big thrill for me to be an honorary Dictator a few years back. , we performed the go girl crazy record in its entirety-the first time they’ve ever done that! That was so much fun!

Now being a full-time member playing alongside Andy Shernoff and Ross the Boss is a gas. Also, Albert Bouchard is in the band (original member of Blue Oyster Cult) makes it even more fun! Especially with that Blue Oyster Cult/Dictators, Sandy Pearlman connection. We’re doing a few classic BOC Songs when we start playing and a lot of the classic Dictators stuff. We’re currently working on a new record, there is tour plans for 2022. A few things are already booked
Dan Lorenzo: Is there anything else you want readers Indie Pulse to know?
Keith Roth: Staying busy keeps me sane.
