Remy de Laroque Launches Star Code project

Though you’ll never catch Remy de Laroque calling his upcoming Star Code project a “pandemic album,” the multi-talented French born Brooklyn based world rock singer-songwriter developed his fascinating sixth full length collection from songs that emerged spontaneously as a flood of creativity unleashed in that era. Laying the foundation for the release of the full recording later this summer he will drop a 4-track EP of the same title June 2, 2022.

Remy de Laroque has said that the album, and the four songs on the EP, refer in unique ways to the unusual angles of these challenging past two years.

“I almost feel like a painter adding layers that people don’t hear but that add to the tracks,” he adds. “I do not lead the song, the song leads me to where it wants to go, It’s the same with songwriting, I am pulling a thread and defining something that’s already out there but not completely formed. I often feel such a great high when certain parts appear through my voice and guitar, but often the more I play them, the more I lose them. It’s almost like they’re becoming human and have to be put in human form but lose part of their spirit in the process. When the song is finished, it’s where it’s supposed to be.” 

This 4 song EP is an audio tour of Remy de Laroque’s world view, and of his unique talents, merging into a beautiful series of songs that inspire hope for understanding, the world’s people, places and of the present social / political distractions. from the start of the EP with the song Bee Dreaming, and it’s soft enchanting tones we are drawn in and find ourselves flowing with the rhythms

The song Always Shine has a blend of European pop and Latin composition, its 80’s sounding beat seems to take us into the early nightclub of the mind, dancing away our pain towards the sunlight drenched shores of a new day.

One Way To Saigon is another Dreamy trip, he takes us on a trip to the beautiful and mystic orient, traveling on a once in a lifetime journey.

Ending the EP is Ballerina’s Shadows, it is as delightful as it is engaging, his lyrics are outstanding as is the music that supports it, a love for something beautiful that should be loved, and held dear.
