Exclusive Interview with Practically Paradise

Hello Practically Paradise! Thank you for speaking with me today!

Tell us about your latest release!

Happier Now was our most recently release, which seems like a lifetime ago but still one of my favorite songs, absolutely loved making that music video!

What was the creative process for it?

Honestly the creative process for it was very therapeutic, we had to work remotely because I had a covid scare and we wrote it around February of 2021, through some zoom and skype sessions, then once I was cleared I had the chance to go track the vocals for it in person.  Overall though it came about through talking about a past relationship I had and how I was happier now without that relationship.  The two producers we work with really helped bring that song to life and I absolutely love it. 

Who are some of your biggest musical influences?

Some of my biggest musical influences would have to be the 1975, coin and the band camino, memphis may fire, childish gambino, glass animals, the list goes on and on haha

Who would be a dream collaboration for you?

oooooo This is one I haven’t really given much thought to, but I’d have to say anything with NOTD, Lowborn, Glass Animals, and or a plethora of our local scene I’d love to collaborate with. 

Do you have a piece of advice you carry with you that you like to pass on to other musicians?

Some advice I’d like to pass on is to never give up, I know that sounds cliche but seriously never give up, don’t listen to the haters, listen to the inner voice in your head telling you what the plan is, and stick to it.  I promise you, it will all be worth it!

Any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?

We have a lot in the works right now but mainly be on the lookout for our live shows, we just started playing them and we’re not planning on slowing down any time soon!  Also maybe some new music coming your way soon, but I mean ya know, gotta keep you guys on your toes!
