Midday Sons: “My Love Will Always Find You”

Midday Sons is the brainchild of Dan Dillon. Dan is a multi-instrumentalist and something of a journeyman in the music industry. Being constantly uprooted in his formative years, Dan found solace in grunge bands as an adolescent. He would eventually get his degree in aerospace engineering, but music has remained in his life.
The new single from Midday Sons, “My Love Will Always Find You,” is off of the forthcoming album, Where The Light Ends. The single is dedicated to Dillon’s wife and is essentially a straightforward love song. Mixed with a little bit of several genres, “My Love Will Always Find You” emerges as a pop song. It’s a pleasant listen, easy to relate to, and undeniably catchy. Look no further than Midday Sons’ impressive YouTube numbers, and there’s no doubt the formula is working.
Steeped in a highly electronic arrangement, “My Love Will Always Find You” retains its heart, thanks to Dillon’s affectionate vocal. With a thin and high-range voice, Dillon seems to hover just below the peak of his range throughout the piece. He sounds both over his head and in complete control throughout the track. His approach suits the tone of the material, and he shows terrific aptitude as a composer. In fact, it’s his musical stylings that should have people most excited for Where The Light Ends.
Dan Dillon has gone on record saying that Where The Light Ends is dedicated to his three daughters. He also emphasizes that the lead single, “My Love Will Always Find You,” is solely inspired by his wife. It’s the type of sentiment that many audiences find irresistible, and Dillon delivers a sincere performance. Bright and sunny with a colorful vibe, “My Love Will Always Find You” is highly accessible with wide appeal. It will be interesting to hear the tone of the rest of the material on his upcoming record. In all likelihood, it’s a safe bet to expect more of the same.
Well produced, with an advanced DIY vibe, “My Love Will Always Find You” is probably most comparable to Owl City. Dillon’s vocals have a youthful disposition to them and a dash of innocence. The mix is almost a bit New Wave but with a pop slant in the vein of A-Ha. It’s the type of song that is instantly attractive and maintains that initial appeal throughout. This is Dan Dillon’s personal vision, and it’s all but well realized.
“My Love Will Always Find You” serves a number of purposes for Midday Sons. It certainly exacerbates the intrigue for the upcoming album and gives us a palate pacifier in the meantime. This is a song that can and will appeal to all ages, giving it a boost of potential for Midday Sons’ catalog. The Husband, Father, and Engineer can now certainly add Singer/Songwriter to his legacy. “My Love Will Always Find You” is now available for streaming and download.
