Taylor Hall – “Happy That it Happened”

Taylor Hall has shared a fresh new EP called Happy That it Happened. Hall is an artist, activist and public speaker based in Indianapolis. She views her lyrics and music as a form of audio diary, which provides emotional release for things happening in her life. This shines through on her brand new project, which is a vibrant collection of songs that contains charismatic, poignant lyrics and heartfelt melodies that can connect with a breadth of listeners.

The EP opens strongly with “Taking Notes”, which makes for an authentic, radiant track laced with thoughtful, engaging lines, and capped off by a catchy hook. “Homie” makes for a bright, laid-back track that includes rich grooves, and blends sounds from hip-hop and R&B, as well as a tinge of reggae. “Shattered” finds Hall delivering a versatile offering that includes a pop-punk feel, making for an infectiously nostalgic cut. “Tried” closes the EP off strongly, with emotional, layered songwriting and expansive soundscapes underscoring her stellar vocal performance.

Happy That it Happened makes for a potent, personality-rich listen overall, and has us excited for what may be coming next from the rising singer.
