“The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.” (Bob Marley)

Like a bright shooting star that appears in the sky, Bob Marley was seen by all and brought joy to many. Though Marley died young his presence and music still shine indelible rays of hope. He is known worldwide as a pop culture icon and pioneer of Jamaican and reggae music. An advocate of social reform, he spoke truth to power. His message brought people together by infusing a vein of the spiritual, a social conscience, and the notion that freedom and democracy for all sometimes require a fight.

Fred Hostetler said in commentary, “I still marvel at how a strong thought becomes an idea that makes me pick up my guitar, and then somehow a riff appears that leads me on into some phrases that turn into a lyric which ends up as a song. Is it some sort of magic? Bob Marley certainly had the magic. He songs rose up from the ‘mud’ of Jamaican street life and “bloomed like a lotus flower”, enchanting fans around the world. Listen to his songs and enjoy!

In a recent reminiscing moment, I thought of how Bob Marley came out of nowhere and swept two generations of music lovers up into happiness, hope, community, and social awareness. In so doing his music and presence brought diverse people together. Who is here today that can rise up to the task to the need to lift us out of political pettiness to enjoy a life of togetherness. This is my modest offering of thanks to him”.

“Where is Bob Marley” was Written, Recorded, Performed and Self-Produced by Fred Hostetler (ASCAP), Mixed by Eric Troyer, featuring Vocals by Karen Lawrence, Eric Troyer on vocals and keyboards and Tony Saracene on guitar. Published Hostel Music (ASCAP)

This is an amazing tribute to Bob Marley by one who is in his own a true musical visionary, Fred Hostetler never ceases to amaze with his music and continues to hit the mark with every note he plays. And while his musical genius is evident, it does not overpower or hide the iconic talents of Karen Lawrence, whom is also a name well known in the Independent and National Music scene, come release day, you will all hear the magic I have had the honor to enjoy this day.
