October 11, 2016 // 0 Comments

Rick Bozzo has lived the rock and roll circus, seen it all, and has worked with some of the most influential musicians in the world. He holds fascinating history his years with Meatloaf and he also played bass in one of my favorite 80's hair bands Giuffria from 1985-1986. [...]

To Form a More Perfect Union in Blues

September 16, 2016 // 0 Comments

"Diana Rein and the Papermoon Gypsys brought a rollicking show to the Blue Beet. Diana's bluesy voice and Kenny 'Big Daddy' Williams' blistering lead guitar on their version of Jimi Hendrix' classic "Stone Free" showed why they're one of the hottest new groups on the scene today. Rein's guitar propels the music with a rocking sound, the interplay of her guitar carrying both rhythm and some excellent solo work. All told, Diana Rein and the Papermoon Gypsys provide a hard driving blues sound that's hard to beat" - Ed Simon, LOS ANGELES BEAT [...]

The Brothers Rye Won the Wild West, One Stage at a Time.

June 30, 2016 // 1 Comment

The Rye Brothers, considered a “power-pop” rock / country act, mixing contemporary country music and rock n’ roll guitar-driven songs. In my opinion are the next level of the American Standard, the image of the Western Country Artist, blended with the Modern Artist and Storyteller. The group is led by Paul Justin & Justin Foutz, who trade off on the lead vocals and guitar licks. Paul and Justin formed Rye Brothers in the summer of 2015 and quickly added a solid rhythm section consisting of Michael Gunn on bass, backing vocals and Jeff Sorenson on drums and backing vocals, to round out this Southern California-based “power-pop” quartet. Basement Revolver Release their second single “Words” from new upcoming project

June 23, 2016 // 0 Comments

"The band has been said to be "pop" but I would say more "Urban Folk" which is a term I use to describe artists that have a strong message to tell in a manner that invites the listener to want to listen to the music, the words ( no pun intended) and every instrument, note for note exquisite with a warmth of a broken heart that still knows that love is real and exists. it is the song for the lovers of the world, the eternally young and the ones that make life beautiful." [...]

Diana Rein: Lady Shreds the Blues

May 18, 2016 // 0 Comments

Long Road by Diana Rein is a wonderful collection of songs with a sense of passion in every note and a view into the life of a female artist that has truly paid her dues. Like the atypical Blues at the crossroads moment when a person can choose fame or faith, she made the choice to follow her heart with faith in herself and found fame worth having. [...]

Sweet and Sour Blues: BLIND LEMON PEEL BLUES ALL-STARS

April 20, 2016 // 2 Comments

“Get ye to the tabernacle of Blues, your local whisky or gin joint, pay heed to the words, my brothers and sisters… Time to get down with the blues” I wanted to start this review with a bit of snarky sarcasm, The Blind Lemon All-Stars is a upbeat, low down, dirty blues band with a healthy sense of humor guaranteed to please the crowd no matter where thy play. This CD is full of the kind of blues that makes you want to dance and sing along, it’s irreverent and humorous lyrics, steady and true Rhythms, solid timing and easy beats make it a blast to be a part of.
