Jack River premiered the track on Clash, who called it, “…crunching guitar pop… Raging against “shallow love” it’s devastating of lyric and concise of vocal, recalling everyone from Hole to Smashing Pumpkins.”
The song is off the upcoming deluxe version of her 2018 debut album Sugar Mountain which earned River three ARIA Award nominations including Breakthrough Artist, Best Pop Release and Engineer of the Year in her native Australia.
She spent the last year on tour in support of the record selling out 1,000+ capacity headline shows and opening for Florence and The Machine, Vance Joy and Peking Duk with River featuring on their latest, tooth-achingly sweet single “Sugar” which has just reached ARIA Gold status down under.
