Casinos are attracting millennials by booking concerts by popular artists

Casinos are increasingly attracting young people by booking concerts and various shows. It’s a marketing strategy that helps casinos attract new visitors, especially millennials who would otherwise likely never visit a casino. This approach is especially popular with regional casinos, which have more event management behavior than Las Vegas.

Why casinos are not popular with millennials

There are several reasons why millennials show less interest in casinos:

1.         Millennials prefer diverse forms of entertainment that give them more control and choices. They prefer to seek alternative ways to spend their free time – going to restaurants, cafes, clubs, concerts, and festivals.

2.         Millennials have grown up in a time of rapid advances in technology and internet access. They prefer to use online platforms for gaming as they are more affordable and convenient and allow them to play anytime, anywhere. Of course, there are online casinos that try to attract players with no deposit bonuses. For example, the sites listed at www.topcadcasinos.net. However, millennials are skeptical of free offers and consider them fraudulent.

3- Millennials often face financial difficulties and constraints. They try to accumulate funds for their financial goals, such as buying a home, investing, or paying off debts. In this situation, they may view casinos as an inefficient investment and engage in more frugal behavior.

4.         Casinos are perceived as places where people lose money and are at risk of developing gambling problems. Millennials, especially those who are more conscious of their health and well-being, may avoid going to casinos to avoid these consequences.

How casinos attract millennials

The example of Treasure Island Casino in Minnesota shows the effectiveness of this strategy. It hosts concerts by famous artists such as Iggy Azalea, Rachel Platten, and Andy Grammer. The casinos are confident that the young visitors who come to the concerts will want to try their luck at gambling.

However, some critics believe that actively attracting millennials to casinos is not the right move. For example, the CEO of Penn National, a company that operates casinos in Pennsylvania, believes that this is a misunderstanding of the needs of young people.

Nevertheless, many casinos continue to invite famous artists to their venues. Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut organizes performances by Michael Carbonaro, Amy Schumer, and the Kesha Collective. WinStar World Casino in Oklahoma offers big names such as Willie Nelson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Patti LaBelle, and tickets for rapper Pitbull’s show were completely sold out.

Many studies show that millennials are not as interested in gambling as their predecessors. They prefer to have more control over the outcome of their bets. Therefore, booking concerts and other shows is becoming a great way to attract these young visitors to casinos.

Casinos realize that young people who visit their venues for concerts may be interested in gambling as well. This strategy brings good results and allows casinos to increase their audience and revenue.
