Creo, single by Cecilia Toussaint. With an intriguing low baseline, trembling violins and a laid-back beat, Toussaint’s vocals are perfectly framed and beguiling moving into a bit of urgency. This is one of those songs that makes you say, “Hey – I like this, play it again.”.  Stream on Spotify and major platforms. Spanish.

Walking on A Dream, single,  Charli Lark. An urgent electronic drum beat and swirling violins floats her voice as it goes into a heavy movement full-orchestration – all electronic. She is a superbly flexible singer, working smoothy with her songwriters and producer Mark  McKee to carry us away. Stream on Spotify and major platforms.

50 Years of Herb Alpert, album by Herb Alpert. The 89-year-old trumpeter sits down with Paste for a career-spanning interview, tracing his origins in the Los Angeles jazz scene to his new, aptly-titled album 50. Along the way, he talks about working with Burt Bacharach, the Wrecking Crew, Sam Cooke, and the Carpenters, selling more than 70 million records and letting the music take him someplace new. Stream everywhere.

Me Ire a Gozar Despues single by Ely Guerra Highly polished cumbia, so tight that keeps you moving while it gives you a whole new view of cumbia.  It makes you feel like you are in a nightclub in pre-Castro Cuba or the Tropicana Club  in the 40’s.  Get up and dance! Stream on Spotify and major platforms. Spanish.

That’s Where I’m At, EP by Adassa. Whew. Born in the United States, Adassa is known  as the voice of Dolores in Disney’s animated film “Encanto,” where her song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” became a global hit. This EP  blends  Latin, pop, R&B,  and country . It will keep you moving and grab your gut in places, especially “My Best Life” and the big country guitars of “Wildflower”. Stream on Spotify and major platforms.

Harbor, single by Irene Diaz.  Somehow, this got past me when it came out last year, but I tripped over it in updating a playlist and had to recommend it.  Diaz is known for love songs, a gorgeous voice and unusual and beautiful compositions. This fits all three of those. Stream on all major platforms.
