| The track ‘Bring Down This Flag’ challenges the power of right-wing political groups to use the British Flag for their own purposes. It belongs to all of us, and the chorus ‘You won’t bring down this Flag – This Country will Unite’, proclaims the strength of the silent majority. Echoing the feeling of many people today, the song’s lyrics express faith and trust in the judgement of the working people of our country: ‘I’ve lost my faith in politics and the politician breed. I don’t believe in hunger, the hangman, or in greed. I don’t know who to trust, or where to find the truth. All I know is – I believe in you!’ The Jamestown Brothers’ original songs don’t just ‘tell the story’ of our nation, they bring it shockingly alive. Strong lyrics and ear-worm tunes that stay with us, inspiring us to join the fight for liberty and justice. This ten-piece Indie Folk band from the South-West of England was formed in 2019, and since then they have collected a strong following playing festivals and clubs throughout the UK alongside some high profile support slots.
