Los Angeles-based, New Hampshire-raised singer-songwriter roger weeks (he/they) is excited to release his new single “New England,” available today via If This Then Records now on streaming platforms for any playlist shares. roger’s forthcoming album, What’s the Worst That Could Happen?, is available for preorder on digital and vinyl.
Following “Caught In The Chaos” and “The Kid Who Made It,” “New England” showcases roger weeks’ signature blend of emotional depth and introspective lyricism. On his new song, roger says, “I often wonder what life would be like if I never left home and moved to LA to pursue music. It’s funny – I’ve decorated my house and studio with furniture from the New England lake house I grew up in. It’s almost like I’m trying to make my own personal New England within this city that couldn’t be farther away. This indie folk pop ballad is about missing home and the person you were.”
roger weeks, a gay singer/songwriter using he/they pronouns, grew up in the tranquil convergence of New Hampshire’s dense forests and serene lakes, raised by his single mother in a small town. Surrounded by the natural symphony of crickets, crackling campfires, and forest sounds, he developed an early appreciation for music. roger’s journey into songwriting was a natural progression, turning their coming-of-age experiences into intimate bedroom-pop folk songs.
After his mother’s passing, roger moved to Los Angeles with a renewed sense of purpose and a spark of vision, determined to transform his grief into a powerful musical journey. Influenced heavily by Noah Kahan, Kacey Musgraves, and Taylor Swift, he has since crafted a sound that blends emotional depth with vulnerable and authentic storytelling. His music also draws inspiration from the compelling balladry of Lewis Capaldi, the sweet pop vocals of Shawn Mendes, and the introspective indie vibe of Gracie Abrams, creating a unique sound that is entirely his own.
In 2023, roger released a cover of Hilary Duff’s “Come Clean,” which has been featured on Spotify’s Sad Covers playlist for over a year. Following this, he released “North Dakota,” a song about finding love in being alone and the journey to self-acceptance – This track resonated widely, going viral online with over 5 million views. Roger has consistently garnered attention on Instagram Reels and TikTok and has amassed a loyal and engaged audience.
roger’s goal with his music is to make others feel less alone in life. Having been through so much himself, he aims for his music to be a vessel to help others heal and feel understood. Roger’s debut album, What’s the Worst That Could Happen?, is out on women-owned independent If This Then Records on Friday, May 2, 2025.
