Blue Banisters, single by Lana del Rey. A jewel-like song that is pure del Rey. It tells an interior and exterior story, holding you close as a witness to her thoughts, her feelings. Del Rey modulates her voice, pulling you in with a feeling of an old, wise child you just want to hold, but also hold at arm’s length while you listen. Delving into sultry neo-soul and alt-disco this song shows off her range and charisma. Dreamy, animated, nostalgic, modern. Her voice is hypnotic, the trap beat taps your feet, while the musical environment she creates with either a synth or gongs (can’t tell which but itis beautifully done) is a like a waterfall of stars.
