| HULL, MA, August 23: Prepare for a night of post-modern blues by the sea as the British/American acid blues band Bees Deluxe, winners of the 2025 Granite State Blues Society’s Blues Challenge, headline The C Note on Nantasket Avenue in Hull. With the band set to represent New England at the prestigious International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee, this January 2026, local audiences have a special chance to catch this dynamic act before they get to Tennessee. Bees Deluxe features Carol Band on keyboards, harmonica, and vocals, whose command of blues classics and originals shines at every performance. She’s joined by Paul Giovine on drums, providing muscular grooves; Brandon Downs on bass guitar; and Conrad Warre on guitar and vocals, whose playing and signature vocals define the group’s inventive sound. Ed Symkus, Metro West Daily News, said of the band: “smoky vocals and gorgeous guitar work, offers a glossy, atmospheric sound” The show at The C Note will include reverse-engineered & rearranged renditions of covers of blues legends like Otis Rush, Etta James, Burt Bacharach and Robert Cray, and songs from their acclaimed recent album “Smash Hits,” alongside inventive—onstage favorites that always ignite the dance floor.
