Sweden has long been a powerhouse in the global music scene – from ABBA, Europe, and Roxette to Max Martin, Avicii, and Swedish House Mafia. Perhaps it’s the long, dark winters that inspire Swedes to create songs that bring light to the world.
Staffan Öfwerman, best known as keyboardist, percussionist, and backing vocalist with Roxette during their global peak (1988–1994), touring extensively on the Look Sharp! and Joyride world tours as well as the iconic MTV Unplugged performance, now steps into the spotlight with his debut solo album LOST AND FOUND (restored, remixed, reborn).
The songs were mostly written in the late 80s and early 90s – an intensely creative period while on the road with Roxette – yet they have never been released until now. Decades later, they are finally ready to meet the world, revived with new recordings and production while keeping their authentic retro feel intact.
“This album is a heartfelt collection of music I wrote during one of the most exciting times of my life,” says Staffan. “It’s a journey back in time, and I’m thrilled to finally share these songs with the world. I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I enjoyed bringing them back to life.”
Blending the warmth of the 70s, the grandeur of the 80s, and the punch of the 90s, LOST AND FOUND delivers a melodic pop/rock experience that feels both timeless and fresh. From the driving opener Miss Understood to the album’s other catchy and nostalgic tracks, it’s a journey through music that’s been patiently waiting for its moment.
LOST AND FOUND (restored, remixed, reborn) will be released on September 5, 2025 via ManoverMusic, on streaming platforms, vinyl, and CD. The album opens with the driving track “Miss Understood,” which we are highlighting for radio play and promotion. While no singles will be officially released, “Miss Understood” serves as a strong introduction to the album’s diverse and nostalgic sound.
