Christina Guadet’s “Rockforte”

Christina Guadet’s Rockforte, nominated for Rock album of the year by the Elite Music Awards, and considered for Grammy’s in four categories including Best Rock Song (for the title track), is all about strength through love and connection in an uncertain world. The album contains an assortment of songs based around love and authenticity, when the times are generally the opposite and people can be the other way around, and it’s only the latest installment in her extensive catalog which covers a wide range of styles and Rockforte meets the same standards and features accompanying videos for two songs, so far.

“Rockforte” is the first song, and the guitar instantly sounds twangy and southern flavored, combined with Gaudet’s power vocals taking it to the outer limits where most of the album travels to in theme with this song standing out and representing the album in all its glory. This song alone carries the album through seven more musical journeys, as it just tips the moving iceberg and brings them all to closer ears and earns all the consideration it’s getting. It simply leads the pack, but the pack doesn’t stray any from there, as to be further described in review.

A clear path is made for “Fire In The Belly” to come blazing into the picture as the story unfolds with one strong gem after the other (Gaudet layering her own backing vocals), making Rockforte an overall album of epic proportion. This song comes with a huge chorus and features excellent songwriting and title defining lyrics making way for great storytelling which continues with “Hot Lover” being the next song in the track list. And a steamy song it is, but only in the context in which it calls for, with Gaudet making her words very clear to align with the album’s overall aura.

“Startrecking” finds the way into the story at just the right time, to help point which direction it’s headed in, and that is to another world in the stars which the video depicts in a worldly space travel storyboard complete with space stations and airplanes to get to them. It’s great, so don’t miss the cool video to go with it. “Heart Be A Healer’ is another gem to be heard on Rockforte, as they just keep coming song after song, and it meets the same quality level and talent degree of Gaudet’s brilliant body of work.

The energy takes a break on “Sterling” with a straightforward message about knowing how to love and when to wait for it to come your way instead of forcing relationships when they’re not welcome. And Gaudet’s songwriting talent takes the album a step beyond on with the exquisite “Skybridge” to mend any fences it intends, taking the high road between one another to bridge communication gaps. This track also comes with a video, complete with anime to make it even more interesting. And it all comes to a head with the music kicking up a notch on the finale “Possibilities” saving some of the best music and words for last.
