Following the release of October’s debut album ‘BUCKY’, Bristol’s rock artist Oswald Slain returns with his upcoming new single ‘Hot Boys’, out today, March 6th 2026.

Born from the creative cocoon of his home studio in Bristol, Oswald Slain is a testament to both personal growth and musical evolution, reflecting a period of deep introspection and a gritty outlook. Having reconciled with the chaos of youth and the trials of aging, lyricist Fitz channels these experiences into sincere, humorous, evocative songwriting alongside the timeless swagger of old retro rock records.

Oswald Slain’s sound is a rich tapestry woven from the threads of classic Americana, echoing the timeless vibes of Neil Young and The Band, whilst infusing it with the gritty, energetic rock essence familiar from his previous works. Anchored by the driving rhythms and fuzzy guitars, his take offers both reflective depth and an irresistible groove, promising music that resonates with both heart and soul. With charismatic performances that can have you laughing and dancing one minute, and heart broken the next, Oswald Slain’s live shows are full of humour, soul and heartfelt sincerity.

Oswald Slain released his debut, five-track EP ‘KISS ME ON THE MOUTH’ in April of 2025, celebrated by Asbo Magazine, RTE, Fame Magazine, KUTX, Sirius XM, Rough Trade’s ‘Counter Culture’, Ones To Watch and Apple editorial’s ‘New In Rock’. The EP was swiftly followed up by ‘BUCKY’, Oswald Slain’s debut full length album, released in October 2025 to vinyl, a love-letter to his trials and errors, as well as his self and musical exploration.

His new single ‘Hot Boys’ perfectly highlights Fitz’ knack for evocative lyrical humour. The fun, tongue-in-cheek number combines wry lyrics and sleazy rhythms, serving as a self-help bop for the unironically delusional.

On the single, Fitz muses, “Sometimes I imagine myself to be incredibly attractive, funny, smart, rich and successful all at the same time, but ultimately, I’m just a worm, sat at the kitchen table, eating apples, smoking cigarettes and waiting for reality to kick in. Hot Boys is a glorified bombardment self-help summer bop inspired by the constant gloating of pills, potions and perfection I was being advertised whilst doom-scrolling on the toilet. It’s upbeat, fun, chaotic, cheap, poncy and brags like a snotty child in the playground of adulthood.

He adds, “It was recorded in February and it’s coming out in March. That’s kinda mad. I didn’t even think that was possible. Anything’s possible. Do whatever you want. There are no rules.

The single coincides with Oswald Slain’s first trip to America for New York City’s New Colossus showcase festival, which sees the band playing three slots across Manhattan’s Lower East Side
