Great new Swedish tune. This one will be setting dancefloors alight all over Europe this summer. Would sound especially good on the Pacha rooftop

3 Meo – Oriental Lodge (121)

They had this on the turntables in Phonica when i popped in the Sunday before last.  Slow euro bonkers is the genre i’m going to give it. Clean as and sounds good on a nice rig.

4  Abu Obaida Hassan – Dawena (141)

Great old school Sudanese sounds. Draws you ever further in. We didn’t want to leave. When Bottom of the Pops gets asked to the Boiler Room we’ll play this.
5 William Carlos Whitten – Burn My Letters (449)

Back in the day BOP wrote a thesis on William Carlos Williams so this is a must play for us. What a song , what a voice and a song with a literary bent. It’s for us. Why people listen to that shite that Sheeran produces,… when there’s songs like this, out in the now ether.

6 Alien Nosejob – Death of the Vinyl Boom (497)

Song title of the week and a nice bit of guitar action too. Presume they are heartedly sick of vinyl  remasters and re-issues, as are we. Their song about flies is pretty cool too.
7 Ora Iso – Wicked Gain (581)

Great cover of the Isaak classic. This is how it should be done.

8  Facta – All The Time  (630)

OK, we admit it, the washes are a bit clean for us but that percussion!  It could have quite easily ended up sounding like Bali spa music but saves itself from the ignominy by just staying rough enough around the edges.

9  The Natural Yoghurt Band – The  13 Moons of Neptune (728)

Another top instrumental and as we can’t place it in a genre, we like it even more. Well worth more than one spin.

10) The Lithics  – Excuse Generator  (5015 )

When we listed this last night it had under the 1000 . They’ve managed to multiply plays by 5 since then. If you listen you’ll immediately know why. Portland’s top new band, although we have been saying this for 18 months now. As it’s the 100th issue we’ll break our own rules to keep this in  the chart
