Independent indie rock artist Daniel Shirin is continuing the rollout of his upcoming album,
SEASON 3, with the announcement of his next single, “California,” scheduled for release in
May. The track follows the release of “Virginia, Turn Around” and further outlines the artistic
direction of the forthcoming album.
Written and produced by Shirin, “California” expands on his guitar-driven indie rock sound
while introducing a broader, more cinematic atmosphere. The song explores themes of
distance, ambition, and forward movement, offering a deeper look into the emotional
framework of SEASON 3. As the second single from the album, “California” is expected to
reveal a more expansive side of the project, both sonically and thematically.
Speaking about the upcoming release, Shirin explains,
“‘California’ is about chasing something you’re not fully sure exists yet. It reflects the tension
between wanting to move forward and understanding what that movement demands.”
The announcement arrives amid growing momentum for Shirin. Before his current solo work,
he released music under the project WHSPR, where the track “Begging You” surpassed
100,000 organic streams, demonstrating sustained audience engagement. More recently,
Shirin released “Virginia, Turn Around,” which marked the beginning of the SEASON 3
album cycle.
Shirin’s momentum has also translated into live performance success. He recently
performed a sold-out show at the Ladin Club, highlighting increasing demand for his
music in a live setting. His performances emphasize guitar-driven arrangements and a direct
connection with audiences, reinforcing his presence as an emerging independent artist.
Following the sold-out performance, Shirin is preparing two to three upcoming live shows
as part of the ongoing rollout for SEASON 3. These performances will support the album
campaign and introduce the new material to broader audiences ahead of the full album
release.
SEASON 3 will be released following additional singles, including the title track “Season 3.”
