“TWISTED,” Featuring Dee Snider of Twisted Sister and Mark Wood of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Nominated for Song of the Year – Metal/Alternative Metal
Ceremony Set for September 20, 2026, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville
SCARECROW has been named an Official Nominee at the 12th Annual Josie Music Awards, earning a nomination for Song of the Year in the Metal/Alternative Metal category for the explosive single “TWISTED.” The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the legendary Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee — the biggest night celebrating independent talent and legends.
“TWISTED” stands as one of the most powerful releases in SCARECROW’s celebrated career. Written and produced by founder and lead vocalist John Blaze, the track was inspired by his long-standing friendship and musical history with Dee Snider and the members of Twisted Sister. The result is a modern, radio-ready rock anthem that unites generations of hard rock royalty on a single recording.
The single features commanding guest vocals from Dee Snider, the iconic voice of Twisted Sister, alongside electrifying violin work by Mark Wood, the original violinist of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Rounding out the all-star lineup are TJ Jordan on lead guitar and Bobby Marks, known for his work with Humble Pie, on drums.

The Twisted Sister connection runs deep in SCARECROW’s DNA. Founded in 1989 by Blaze, the band’s original lineup featured Twisted Sister guitarist Eddie Ojeda, and SCARECROW quickly built a reputation for ferocious live performances and theatrical, cinematic storytelling. Nearly four decades later, that legacy comes full circle with “TWISTED” — and now, with national recognition at one of independent music’s most prestigious ceremonies.
The Josie Music Awards, held annually at the Grand Ole Opry House, is the largest privately-owned, multi-genre independent music awards show in the world, judged by musicians and music industry professionals. Official Nominee status places “TWISTED” among an elite selection drawn from tens of thousands of submissions across the globe.
In recent years, Blaze has expanded the SCARECROW universe with the theatrical stage production “I AM SCARECROW,” bringing his signature makeup, dark storytelling, and hard rock intensity to live audiences, along with the twenty-year retrospective album “Blood, Sweat and 20 Years” via The Spectra Music Group. With “TWISTED” now vying for Song of the Year, SCARECROW’s march forward shows no signs of slowing.
