Tiwanaku Returns With Powerful Earth Base One Reissue Through Particle Collider Entertainment

For nearly 20 years, extreme metal outfit Tiwanaku has continued pushing beyond the limits of conventional heavy music. Their album Earth Base One stands as more than a standard release — it represents endurance, creative independence, and an unwavering commitment to artistic vision. Originally released on November 4, 2022 by Unorthodox Emanations/Avantgarde Music(Milan, Italy), the project is now set for a renewed reissue on March 24, 2026 through Particle Collider Entertainment, bringing fresh recognition to one of underground progressive metal’s most ambitious bodies of work.

The band was formed in 2002 by former Nocturnus vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Ed Mowery immediately following his departure from the group. Instead of revisiting the past, Mowery focused on building a completely new creative identity — one rooted in extreme metal intensity, cinematic soundscapes, and progressive experimentation. Over time, that vision would grow into Earth Base One, a project that ultimately required 19 years to fully bring to life.

Completing the album came with immense personal challenges. During the lengthy recording and creative process, Mowery underwent more than 34 major surgeries involving his brain, neck, and back. For many, circumstances like those would have ended the journey entirely, but he remained determined to find a way. The result is an album fueled by perseverance, transforming years of pain, struggle, and adversity into something both emotionally impactful and sonically massive.

Mowery has described the album as proof that he “never gave up on Tiwanaku and Earth Base One.” That determination is embedded throughout the record, which blends crushing riffs, atmospheric storytelling, progressive structures, and bold experimentation. Unlike earlier projects, the album also gave Mowery complete artistic freedom after leaving Nocturnus, allowing him to create a record that feels deeply personal while still delivering the aggression and intensity extreme metal fans expect.

Tiwanaku’s current lineup — featuring Wade Black, Ryan Oneill, Sean Valentine, and Ed Mowery — has evolved into a powerful collaborative force capable of balancing technical musicianship with emotional weight. Their sound stretches far beyond traditional genre boundaries, fusing progressive metal, cinematic atmosphere, and layered textures into a distinct sonic identity.

Part of what makes Tiwanaku unique within the underground metal scene is the band’s international reach and deeper historical connection behind its name. The group has previously toured in Bolivia and even visited the ancient Tiwanaku archaeological site, further strengthening the relationship between the band’s identity and its cultural inspiration. Tiwanaku is also expected to return to Bolivia in 2027 as the band continues expanding its global presence.

With the reissue of Earth Base One, Tiwanaku continues proving that passion, perseverance, and artistic vision can survive even the harshest obstacles. For listeners drawn to death metal, progressive metal, thrash metal, cinematic heaviness, and authentic storytelling, the album stands as one of underground heavy music’s most determined and compelling releases today.
