Lerin/Hystad Release Starmap
Starmap is the fourth full length album by Swedish/Norwegian music and art duo Lerin/Hystad.
The album will has been released on digital platforms on December 6th through Extemporaneous Recordings.
Starmap is an experimental pop-album and the first Lerin/Hystad release to feature vocals. It combines acoustic elements like guitars, drums and a Chinese guzheng with analog modular synthesizers and digital electronics. Together with the release of the album Lerin/Hystad have also made a series of music videos which also will be shown when the album is performed live. The videos depicts a dark creature roaming the forests and the water.
About Lerin / Hystad –
With a handful of releases to their credit, Swedish/Norwegian art and music duo Lerin / Hystad has covered a vast array of musical ground. Integrating live instrumentation with field-recordings and samples, their composition techniques are informed by collages. Their electric multi-layered tapestries references various styles of electronic music, post-rock, jazz, ambient soundscapes and numerous other styles. Their work varies from rhythmic, pulsating tracks to free flowing washes of sound, they place equal emphasis on experimentation as they do the emotional.
Lerin / Hystad are also active improvisers and have performed together with Damo Suzuki, Keiji Haino, Omar Rodriguez Lopez, The Boredoms and Schneider TM among others.
